Jamie Droessler, Certified Financial Planner
Owner, Direct Financial Care
I like to say that I was put on earth to do financial planning. I absolutely love helping people manage and make the most of their finances. Whether that’s helping you see if you’re on track to retire when you want to, knowing what to do with an inheritance, or helping you decide if now is the right time to refinance — I can’t wait to help you. My best days are when I know I’ve helped a client move from feeling anxious about their financial decisions to feeling calm and confident that they made the right choice.
But I didn’t start out as a financial planner. In fact, I grew up on a dairy farm in Wisconsin and got my degree in Mechanical Engineering. I had a great job doing Engineering and Management for ten years. When I started in Engineering, I didn’t know anything about stock options or personal finance for that matter. But as an engineer, I’ve always been interested in how things work and why. So I put my engineering skills to work learning all about financial planning. Pretty soon, I discovered that I loved solving financial challenges more than any other engineering problems.
So I went back to school to become a Certified Financial Planner. That’s when I realized how much unnecessary complexity was being added to personal finance. I knew it could be simpler.
I wanted to practice financial planning in a way that helped simplify people’s lives and solved their problems. Financial issues shouldn’t be a source of pain or anxiety!
Aside from talking finances, stock options, and retirement packages, I enjoy the best that the Midwest has to offer: a cold beer on a hot summer evening, quality time spent with my wife and two kids, and exploring our state parks. I also like to watch MMA fights — I guess I just really get a kick out of being in someone’s corner and cheering them on!
